ADVENTIST CHURCH LEADER APPOINTED GOVERNOR GENERAL OF JAMAICA
On January 13, 2009 an Adventist leader, Pastor and Doctor Patrick L. Allen, was appointed Governor General of Jamaica while serving as President of the West Indies Union Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with headquarters in Mandeville, Jamaica. From his new governmental position in the capital city of Kingston, he will be serving his country from the nation’s highest office. As part of his responsibilities as head of state, Dr Allen will represent Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom in official ceremonies.
