Georgian Human Rights Expert Consults Adventist Leaders Silver Spring, Maryland As part of a research visit to the United States, Khatuna Tsintsadze, a human rights expert from the republic of Georgia, visited the Seventh-day Adventist Church world headquarters May 1 to consult with Adventist leaders. Tsintsadze is the executive director of the human rights organisation, the Union "Century 21", based in Tbilisi, Georgia. Currently she is based in New York as an international guest at the International Center of Tolerance Education (ICTE), an initiative of the Third Millennium Foundation. At the same time, she is a visiting scholar at Columbia University. "We were delighted
to host this visit for Ms. Tsintsadze and to provide the opportunity to
develop dialogue with someone who is very well
placed in the human rights community in Georgia," said Jonathan Gallagher
of the Adventist church's Public Affairs and Religious Liberty department
who hosted the meeting. "We have much to discuss in this area of
church-state relations, freedom of conscience, and religious liberty,
and we believe this interaction will provide much mutual benefit."
